Monkeying around again...

No, I really haven't been. Its parent-teacher conference time around here, which means lots of extra nights spent getting papers and reports ready and some late nights at school talking with parents. Spring break in 4 days...whoop whoop!

Here's just a peek at a party I did a couple months ago...the same monkey theme as you've seen me do plenty of times before, but with a new color spin.

Brooks' mom Missie is a teacher, too...she's promised me some pictures after she gets done with her parent-teacher conferences. Can't wait to see them!

Little Red Rocket

I loved working with this mom after doing her son Carter's 1st birthday last year...remember those luggage tags? Some of my favorite things I've done. This year she wanted to do a "Little Red Rocket" theme.

I have actually seen the pics of the party and can't wait to share them someday soon...just need to get some photographer permission first...but I can tell you that it looked like "a blast"! =)

Another Avery...

Mrs. Monson comes very close to celebrity status at our house. She is my kids' preschool teacher...T had her for two years and Avery has her now. We're really hoping she can hold out for 6 straight years of Newman kids.

Last year Mrs. Monson had a baby. It just so happened she named that baby Avery. Both Tate and Avery are pretty convinced it is because of our Ave...and I just let them believe it. It kind of puts her in my celebrity category too. She's so nice, understands and loves my kids, is a teacher, and names her baby one of my fave names in the world...how could I refuse when she asked if I could squeeze her bday party into my schedule??

Little Avery Monson turned one mid December...here are a few pics of her party and "A little birdie told me..."partyware:

Thanks for the pics, Emily, (contrary to the kids belief she does have a real first name besides Mrs.) and happy birthday Avery!

Emmaline's Flowers

I have done a few flower parties in the past (like Grace's here and Jozlyn's here) and loved them all. Avery always loves when I am working on those orders, too, and decided a long time ago that she wanted to have a flower party for her birthday this year as well. This ended up working out perfectly since Megan had booked me months ago to do one for her daughter Emmaline. I got to design a few items that I plan on using for Avery's birthday, too!

Here is how it all turned out...

Can't wait to see pictures from the party, Megan!

Little Cupcake

I found Erin and The Vintage Pearl through my friend Tammy. Then Erin helped me set up my blog originally when I started this whole thing a year ago. She makes jewelry, is an awesome photographer, and is the mom of four. Her blog chronicles daily life around their house, as well as showcasing some of her jewelry.

Let's just say I may fit into the "blog stalker" category. I told Erin that last year I was on vacation with my three sisters (one of which fits into the same category) and it just happened to be the weekend her daughter Eden was born. We were talking about what she had named her, etc. and finally one of our other sisters said "WHO ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!" because we were talking about them as if we knew them.

That trip must have been a year ago last weekend...*golden* and I coordinated to make Eden's birthday outfit and a few other items. Erin's pics are too good for me to shove in a collage, so you get the full sized ones today!

And because I can't resist a good cake smashing pic...

And a couple other things for Eden...

Thanks, Erin, for the pics and for the peek into your daily life with your beautiful family!

Olivia's Polka Dots and Pigs

A while back I spotlighted some invitations I made for my little friend Olivia. Her favorite two things are polka dots and pigs.

Olivia is actually our neighbor. Her mom and I became good friends after we had our oldest boys 10 days apart. So for her birthday, we made Olivia a tutu to match her outfit for the party and a pig wearing a tutu to match hers...

Photobucket

And here are the rest of the things Patti ordered (and the tutu we gave her) for the party...

We will be going to the party this weekend, so hopefully I will have a cute pic of O to show you next week!

Jozlyn's 2nd birthday...

...is still a few months away. But as my schedule started to fill up for summer, Jozlyn's mom Heidi and I decided that I should just get it done early since she knew I'd be returning to work about the time that Jozlyn's party would be in August.

She loved Grace's Flower Power party I did in March, but wanted the graphics to be changed to reflect more her style. I softened the color palate a bit, Heidi chose a new font, and I got to work!

Here are the results:
Photobucket

As it turns out, its a good thing we're planning early, because during our project Heidi found out she's expecting baby #2! We have become good friends since I did Jozlyn's party last year and I've been "counseling" her on how great it is to have your kiddos close in age...ha! It will be nice for her to have this all taken care of so that she can relax with that belly as the party gets closer. Thanks, Heidi...it was so fun working with you as always!

Remember to enter to win a gift certificate from my shop (if you twist my arm I may even do a custom order for you, doesn't necessarily have to be from the collections in my shop...hint hint please enter!) Thanks for those of you who entered already by leaving a comment OR sending me an email. I <3 all of you!

New for the PDCfG!

Now that I have added the POLKADOT COLLECTION for BOYS, we distinguish around here by PDCfG (POLKADOT COLLECTION for GIRLS) and PDCfB (for BOYS). I am actually working on becoming the acronym queen which drives my husband cuckoo. He HATES them. He actually gets so mad that he yells "OBGYN" every time I use one, because that's the only acronym he knows that he thinks will embarrass me. What a nerd!

So anyway, along with the new collection came a bunch of things that people had asked for along the way that I decided to work into the PDCfB. But that meant that I better design the same things for the girls line, too! So here they are...
**Tutu****Custom Invitations****Custom Thank Yous****High Chair Bunting**
**Bib**
(bib found at Golden)**Smash Cake Topper****Favor Bag Toppers****Cake Plate Ribbons**

There are a few more things for each collection on its way...and I'm ALWAYS open to more suggestions of things you'd like to see, so shoot them my way! All of the things listed here are now available in my shop.

Sorry this blog is a day late...there are some AMAZINGLY exciting things on the horizon here at PD&P...hoping to be able to share news soon. :) Have a great weekend...be back Monday!

A little birdy told me...

...that its hot in Florida these days! This customer wanted a few of the things I normally make, but she also had me make a few things I'd never made before, including some handheld fans for the hot Florida weather.

Here is what she sent me as a starting off point for her daughter Harper's 1st birthday party in a birdy theme:
The bib was made by Rachel at Golden Shop, who actually sent this client my way. Adorable, as always!

I was able to find lots of cute paper in the pink and orange sherbert colors and I even found the same font that was used on her invitations. Here is how her collection turned out:

The banner...
A cake topper for her "smash cake"...
A cake topper...
Cupcake toppers...
And the hand held fans...
Aren't they fun? They would be great for summer wedding favors, too!
